vO.5.0 Release Notes

This release adds incremental features to both Nexus Forge core and specializations modules.

New Features


  • Add creating resources from rdflib graph. #107 (usage: 14 - RDF IO notebook on Github or on Binder)

forge.from_graph(data: rdflib.Graph, type = Optional[Union[str, List]] = None, frame: Dict = None, model_context: Optional[Context] = None) -> Union[Resource, List[Resource]]

Data from most knowledge bases serialised in one of the RDF formats (e.g. Turtle, n3, xml) can thus be imported as Resources. This conversion can be controled by providing types and/or a JSON-LD Frame document.



  • Improve filter by URL values by boxing url values in <…> when calling forge.search while using BlueBrainNexus store. #100 (usage: 04 - Querying notebook on Github or on Binder)

  • Add setting resolving strategy using a string name. #105 (usage: 09 - Resolving notebook on Github or on Binder)

forge.resolve(…) is often used within a mapping file to automatically resolve or link to entities in a knowledge base for example.

   property: forge.resolve(text, strategy="EXACT_MATCH") # it is still possible to use ResolvingStrategy.EXACT_MATCH

ResolvingStrategy can’t be imported during the mapping execution therefore using ResolvingStrategy.EXACT_MATCH in a mapping file will throw an error. Allowing the user to provide string as the ResolvingStrategy name would address that.


  • Create a Dataset from a Resource. #102 (issue:#82)(usage: 02 - Datasets notebook on Github or on Binder)
